Answer the Call: Rebuild Homes and Restore Hope in Western North Carolina
Imagine the devastation: Families are still living in campers eight months after losing everything to the catastrophic floods of Hurricane Helene. Western North Carolina needs our hands and hearts, and we invite you to be the tangible expression of Christ's love in their time of need. Cross Assembly, in partnership with Convoy of Hope, is sending a week-long mission team to rebuild homes and restore hope in the communities of Western North Carolina (a three to four hour drive from Raleigh). Cross Assembly will be deploy a team of up to 20 volunteers to work five days (Sunday to Saturday), providing essential construction support to those still reeling from this disaster.
This is more than just a work trip; it's an opportunity to:
• Be the hands and feet of Jesus - directly impact the lives of those who have lost so much.
• Restore homes and rebuild lives - contribute to the long-term recovery of a community in desperate need.
• Experience the power of community - work alongside fellow believers in a shared mission.
• Serve with purpose - find deep fulfillment in using your skills and energy for a greater cause.
What to Expect:
• Meaningful physical labor - we'll be involved in construction projects, requiring you to be comfortable on your feet, lifting 25 pounds or more, and using basic hand tools. No prior construction experience is required, but you do need a willing heart and a strong back.
• Complete Support - Convoy of Hope will provide meals, sleeping quarters, and project management. Team fees will be $200 per person to help offset this cost.
• Low-Cost Participation - your only other responsibility is transportation to Western NC, which we can help coordinate through carpooling from the church as needed.
If we have enough volunteers’ additional trips may be organized for November or December.
