Winter Semester

Spring Semester
May 7 – Jul 14, 2025
At Cross Assembly, our Groups are essential for building meaningful Christian relationships (Connection) and deepening your relationship with God (Discipleship).
We encourage everyone for their first step with Cross Assembly to join a Group. Our groups are focused on the elements of Acts 2:42: Scriptural Teachings, Fellowship, Breaking of Bread, and Prayer.
All groups are led by our trained leaders. They meet on campus, online, or in the community, and consist of 9-15 people who gather weekly to share, study, and support one another.
Groups meet for three semesters all year long, with a rest month break between each semester.
What is a Group?
A Group is a gathering of 9-15 people and is modeled after the 1st century church as described in Acts 2:42. Every group includes a time of teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42).
Groups meet regularly on campus, in the community, or online, and are all led by a trained leader. Most groups stay together throughout the entire year, but you’re encouraged to explore different groups until you find the one that you are excited to be a member of.
NEW FOR 2025: D-GROUPS
This year, we are launching "Discipleship Groups" (aka D-Groups). These are smaller, more intentional groups designed to help you become more like Jesus through weekly meetings. They provide deeper accountability with the goals of Spiritual Growth and Multiplication. If you are interested in joining or leading a D-Group, click here.

When can I sign up for a group?
You can sign up for a group that has capacity at any time! Our Groups meet in 10–12 week semesters during the Fall (September – November), Winter (January—March), and Summer (May—July). You can sign up for a group online by clicking here or email us at [email protected] and we'll help you in finding the best group for you.
How do I choose a group?
You can filter our groups by meeting day, location, group type, teaching, campus, availability of childcare, leader’s neighborhood, or Station-of-Life (common life stage). These filters are designed to help you find a group that fits your current life stage. Keep in mind that you may relate to more than one Station-of-Life, so explore all the groups that might be a good fit for you. To learn more about each Station-of-Life, visit our page on choosing a group.
When and where do groups meet?
Group meeting times and locations are up to the leader of the group. Community and Online Groups meet throughout the week and the Triangle area. Campus Groups meet on Monday or Wednesday nights at one of our campuses.

We have three types of groups:
1) Campus: These groups meet at one of our campuses.
2) Community: These groups meet in various locations throughout the Triangle area.

Why should I join a group?
Cross Assembly is a larger church and finding community outside of Sunday Morning Worship can be difficult. Groups is a great place to find connection and to share life, study God's Word, and support one another (Heb 10:24-25) .
What about childcare?
Groups are for adults. Childcare is available when groups meet on campus on Monday and Wednesday nights. For community groups, childcare arrangements are left to the group members to decide.
Support Groups
If you are need in of more specific support with something that is hindering your walk with Jesus, we encourage you to get involved with one of your support ministries (below).
