Welcome to Surrendering the Secret, a ministry designed to help women and men heal from the hurt of abortion. Abortion affects people of all walks of life. At Surrendering the Secret, we provide resources for women and men that have had abortions, and opportunities for others to help support these individuals.

Many women and men hide the secret of abortion deep in their hearts and they are suffering severe consequences. They carry a great burden of shame and failure, afraid to reveal their hidden pain, and by doing so are forced to endure the long-lasting effects in isolation.

After an abortion, many women and men experience initial relief. The perceived crisis is over and life returns to normal. For many women and men however, the crisis isn’t over. Months and even years later, significant problems develop. There is evidence that abortion is associated with decrease in long-term emotional and physical health.

Some of the symptoms include, guilt, grief, anger, anxiety, depression, difficulty bonding with children and eating disorders, among others.
