WOMEN IN PRISON

On the road to redemption

We believe God will raise up women from Cross Assembly to fulfill His Great Commission through spreading His Gospel to the incarcerated women of North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women’s (NCCIW) minimum and maximum security prisons.

Opportunities inside the prison include: Sunday evening worship service, Bible studies, community volunteer sponsors and special events such as birthday parties and holiday events. Many of the women in the minimum security prison are eligible to attend local church services and quarterly shopping privileges. Volunteer sponsors are needed to support these activities. Many women are not able to participate due to a shortage of volunteer sponsors.

All ministry volunteers are required to attend a 2-hour community volunteer training session. The training takes place four times a year at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women, located at 1201 S State St. in Raleigh.

WOMEN RECENTLY RELEASED

A life in transition

When women are released from prison, they need community support for a successful transition back into society. Opportunities include: transition home mentors and transportation support to church, job interviews, medical appointments and life skill programs.

Cross Assembly will be hosting quarterly Women’s Prisons Ministry informational meetings at the Cross Assembly campus. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. It is with great excitement that we look forward to serving with you!

BE A RESOURCE

A chapter of transformation

We need bold women of faith to step into service of these women. Whether they are facing time or freedom they need the hope of Christ as their guide through life. Many women are in need but the workers are few. Will you help us make a difference in the lives of these women? Contact us below.
